(Best E Casino) - The Boston Celtics lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, 106-104, at the FleetCenter on Wednesday.
Paul Pierce paced Boston with 21 points, before fouling out with 2:49 left in the game. Mark Blount collected 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics, who have dropped a season-high seven straight and 13 of their last 14 outings. Brandon Hunter contributed a career-high 17 points in the loss.
Milwaukee took a 100-95 lead on a layup by Daniel Santiago with 5:16 remaining in the fourth quarter. Pierce then drained a three-pointer and Blount followed with a three-point play to give Boston a one-point edge with 2:29 left.
The Bucks then received a hook shot in the lane from Keith Van Horn, a jumper from Damon Jones and a driving layup from Redd to regain a five-point advantage at 106-101 with 1:09 remaining.
Ricky Davis responded with a basket for the Celtics seven seconds later and then hit 1-of-2 tries from the foul line to cut the deficit to 106-104 with 28 seconds left.
After Desmond Mason missed a jumper from the corner, Boston got the rebound and called timeout with 4.4 seconds remaining. On the final possession, Milwaukee pressured the ball and time expired before Walter McCarty's desperation 35- foot heave banked in.
Boston was only 22-of-39 from the foul line in the loss.
Blount is averaging 16 points, 10 rebounds and 2.5 assists in his last two games.
The Celtics are off until Friday when they host the Toronto Raptors in the first of a home-and-home set. The teams will also play on Sunday at Air Canada Centre.
The Raptors and Celtics will meet for the third time this season on Friday. Toronto beat Boston, 105-95, on December 3, 2003, at Air Canada Centre, while the Celtics defeated the Raptors, 114-111, on December 13 at the FleetCenter.
