(Best E Casino) - Youngster Johnny Cueto tries again to break through on the road tonight, when the Cincinnati Reds head to Miami's Dolphin Stadium to begin a four-game weekend series with the host Florida Marlins.

The Reds also hit town with future Hall of Fame outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. still on the brink of a milestone.

The Cincinnati native, who has 599 home runs for his career, has gone 3-for-7 with a pair of doubles and three walks since his last round-tripper on Saturday against Atlanta.

He was 1-for-4 in the finale of a four-game series at Philadelphia on Thursday, including a warning-track fly out to center field in his final at- bat.

Meanwhile, Cueto, who's won two straight starts after losing five of six decisions during a rough stretch, still sits at 0-4 with a 7.99 earned run average in five outings away from Great American Ball Park.

He's allowed 33 hits and 21 earned runs in 23 2/3 road innings, while allowing an opposition batting average of .337.

The 22-year-old Dominican beat the Braves in Cincinnati on Sunday, allowing four hits and two runs over seven innings of the Reds' 6-2 triumph. He has never faced the Marlins.

Florida counters with another youngster, 23-year-old Gainesville native Andrew Miller, who's winless in two starts since a stretch in which he'd win four of five decisions.

Miller, a 6-foot-6, 210-pound southpaw, allowed three hits and two earned runs over five innings his last time out, getting a no-decision in Florida's 7-5 loss at Philadelphia.

He'd been beaten by the New York Mets one start earlier and hasn't won since May 22, when he pitched seven scoreless innings in the Marlins' 4-0 blanking of Arizona.

Miller has never faced the Reds.

On Thursday in Philadelphia, Cole Hamels tossed a three-hitter as the Phillies topped the Reds, 5-0, in the finale of their four-game set at Citizens Bank Park.

Cincinnati's Homer Bailey (0-1) made his season debut after being recalled from Triple-A Louisville before the game and took the loss. He allowed five runs -- two earned -- on four hits in 6 1/3 frames while being the victim of lackluster defense.

Paul Janish and Jerry Hairston Jr. collected the other hits for the Reds -- both doubles -- as Cincinnati fell to 1-3 in the first half of their eight- game road swing.

In Atlanta on Thursday, Chipper Jones hit his 400th career home run and the Braves defeated the Marlins, 7-5, in the finale of a four-game series at Turner Field.

Hanley Ramirez homered and scored twice for the Marlins, who have lost four of their last five games and concluded their 10-game road trip with a 3-7 mark.

Dan Uggla finished 3-for-5 while Jacque Jones notched an RBI and a run scored in the losing effort.

Florida starter Ricky Nolasco (5-4) surrendered seven runs on 11 hits over 5 2/3 innings and absorbed the loss.

The Reds have won all three of their matchups so far this year against the Marlins, but lost three of four in Florida last season.
