Resurgent Yankees try to keep rolling in Minnesota

(Best E Casino) - The New York Yankees will attempt to record their third consecutive victory over the Minnesota Twins today at the Metrodome.

Bobby Abreu went 2-for-5 with two RBI and drove in the go-ahead run in the 12th inning as the Yankees edged the Twins by a 7-6 final on Saturday.

Johnny Damon had a one-out single in the 12th and Derek Jeter put runners on the corners with another base hit. Abreu then put the Yankees on top with an RBI single.

Alex Rodriguez also had two RBI for the Yankees, who have won three in a row and eight of their last 10.

Ross Ohlendorf (1-1) got the win after he threw a scoreless 10th and 11th frames, while Mariano Rivera earned his 15th save of the year with a perfect 12th.

Chien-Ming Wang started for New York and went 5 1/3 innings, giving up five runs on nine hits for the no-decision.

Michael Cuddyer went 2-for-6 and hit the game-tying homer in the seventh inning for the Twins, who have dropped two in a row. Mike Lamb and Delmon Young each recorded three hits in defeat.

Twins starter Boof Bonser went five innings and gave up five runs -- two earned -- on five hits. Juan Rincon (2-2) absorbed the loss after he was touched for the one run in the 12th.

Darrell Rasner has been a pleasant surprise for the Yankees this season, as the 27-year-old righty is 3-1 with a 1.80 ERA. Rasner, who will take the mound this afternoon, has handed out only three walks in 25 innings.

He pitched extremely well against Baltimore on Monday, but a lack of run support resulted in a defeat. Rasner limited the Orioles to one run over six innings but left the contest trailing 1-0.

Rasner is 1-0 lifetime against Minnesota.

Nick Blackburn is the scheduled starter for Minnesota. So far this season, the righty is 4-3 with 3.39 ERA. While Blackburn has permitted 86 hits in 71 2/3 innings of action, he has walked just 11 batters and yielded only four home runs.

Blackburn has never faced the Yankees in his career.

New York won five of its seven meetings with the Twins a year ago after the teams split a six-game series in each of the two previous seasons.
