St. Louis, MO (Best E Casino) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced Thursday that the club has extended the contract of senior vice president and general manager Larry Pleau through the 2009-10 season. Pleau became the 10th general manager in team history on June 9, 1997. Under his guidance, the Blues have posted a 387-333-100 record and captured the President's Trophy as the top regular season team during the 1999-2000 campaign. Davidson also announced the club has named Doug Armstrong as vice president of player personnel. Armstrong will assume the general manager duties beginning in 2010. Armstrong joins the Blues after spending the past 17 seasons in the Dallas Stars organization. He served as the general manager the last six seasons before his dismissal last November.
