Arlington, TX (Best E Casino) - The Texas Rangers made several moves on Thursday and, among others, activated starting pitcher Kevin Millwood from the 15-day disabled list. The right-hander had been on the DL since May 11 after straining his right groin in a May 10 outing against the Oakland Athletics. It was his second stint on the DL this season. In nine games this season for Texas, he is 2-3 with a 4.88 earned-run average. In other moves, the team recalled infielder Travis Metcalf from Triple-A Oklahoma and optioned pitchers Kameron Loe and Franklyn German, and infielder German Duran to Oklahoma. Metcalf will be in his second stint with the Rangers this season, as he was also with the club from May 8-13. He made his major league debut last season and in 57 games with the Rangers he hit .255 with five home runs and 21 RBI. Duran made his major league debut this season and has hit .193 with a home run and four RBI over 26 games. Loe was recalled on May 21 and went 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in two relief appearances for Texas. Franklyn German was designated for assignment on May 21 and cleared waivers prior to Thursday's move. In 17 games this season, he is 1-3 with a 2.08 ERA.
