Salt Lake City, UT (Best E Casino) - Utah Jazz forward Paul Millsap underwent successful surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb the team announced Friday. Millsap's thumb will be placed in a cast for two weeks at which time he will be re-evaluated to determine treatment for the following four weeks. Dr. Steven Huish confirmed the injury after Millsap sought a second opinion and performed the surgery on Thursday. Millsap suffered the injury in Utah's 108-105 loss to the Lakers last Friday in Game 6 of its Western Conference semifinal series that eliminated the Jazz from the playoffs. Millsap logged significant playing time for the Jazz in his second season with the team, averaging 20.8 minutes per game and appearing in all 82 contests with two starts. He averaged 8.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game during the 2007-08 regular season. The Louisiana Tech product averaged 17.5 minutes per game in 12 playoff contests against the Rockets and Lakers. He averaged 6.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in the postseason.
