Oakland, CA (Best E Casino) - Oakland Athletics infielder Donnie Murphy was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Monday due to right elbow inflammation. The move to put Murphy on the DL is retroactive to Sunday. He started five straight games at second base for the injured Mark Ellis before missing Sunday's contest against Atlanta.
