MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Vikings great Carl Eller appeared in court Monday on charges stemming from an alleged scuffle with police last month. Eller agreed to appear at a pretrial hearing July 29, and a trial date was set for November 4. He hasn't entered a plea. The charges against Eller include assault on a police officer and making terroristic threats. He was arrested at his home April 9 for alleged drunken driving. Eller, who appeared with his attorneys, declined to comment after the brief hearing before Hennepin County District Judge Margaret Daly. Eller has another run-in with the Minneapolis police last week. Police say he didn't have special license plates on his motorcycle that indicate he had past alcohol-related driving offenses.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
