The Los Angeles Times reported last week that Love and teammate Darren Collison were expected to make themselves available for the NBA draft and hire agents, meaning they could not return to UCLA next season. Each player confirmed his decision to head coach Ben Howland in a separate meeting, according to the newspaper. The 6-foot-10 Love averaged 17.5 points and 10.6 rebounds for the Bruins, earning Pacific 10 Conference Player of the Year honors and joining a collection of collegiate stars on the All-American first team.
