(Best E Casino) - The Los Angeles Lakers need one more win to secure the top seed in the West and home-court advantage throughout the conference playoffs, as they wrap up a season-ending three-game homestand tonight versus the Sacramento Kings at the Staples Center. Los Angeles is a half game ahead of the New Orleans Hornets in the West standings, and improved to 2-0 on the homestand with Sunday's 106-85 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Kobe Bryant scored 20 points and Lamar Odom ended with 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Lakers, whose victory over the Hornets on Friday ensured them the tie-breaker over New Orleans because of a better conference record. A win tonight would set the Lakers up with No. 8 Denver in the opening round. Pau Gasol added 14 points and 11 boards in Sunday's win, as Pacific Division- champion Los Angeles posted its third straight triumph overall and seventh in eight contests. The Lakers have won five in a row at the Staples Center, and are 29-11 as the host this season. Sacramento will try to end its season on a winning note Tuesday night on the road. It is 12-28 away from ARCO Arena this season. The Kings had a two-game winning streak stopped with Monday's 101-98 setback to the Spurs in the finale of a three-game homestand. John Salmons ended with 29 points and 10 rebounds for the Kings, who finished 26-15 at home this season. Sacramento leading scorer Kevin Martin missed the game with a strained right knee. Martin and forward Ron Artest (thumb) are both doubtful for tonight. Los Angeles is 2-1 against the Kings this season, and has won four of five and six of the previous eight meetings in the series. Sacramento has won two of its last three as the visitor against the Lakers.
