Provo, UT (Best E Casino) - BYU junior big man Trent Plaisted has declared himself eligible for the NBA Draft, but won't hire an agent to maintain his collegiate eligibility should he decide to return to school. "I have decided to put my name in and pursue my options with the NBA at this time," said Plaisted. "I am not signing with an agent because I want to leave open the possibility of coming back for my senior season. Playing professional basketball is definitely a goal of mine and we have a very good team here at BYU, so either way I think my options are good." Plaisted, a forward/center at 6-foot-11, was a first-team All-Mountain West selection this past season after averaging 15.6 points and a team-best 7.7 rebounds per game. He helped the Cougars win their second straight outright MWC regular-season title an earn a second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth. The San Antonio native ranks 14th all-time on the Cougars' scoring list with 1,372 points and is on target to graduate in August. He has averaged 13.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in three seasons. College underclassmen have until April 27 to declare for the draft. The deadline to withdraw from consideration is June 16.
