Houston Rockets try to extend their season high winning streak to 13 games when they host the
Washington Wizards tonight at the Toyota Center.
This is the second and final meeting of the campaign between the clubs. On January 8th, Yao Ming scored 21 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out four assists as the Rockets beat the Wizards, 92-84, at the Verizon Center.
The Rockets have won five in a row and eight of nine in the series. Washington has lost five straight and 20 of its last 22 at Houston.
Houston plays the second of a five-game homestand. Tracy McGrady scored 24 points and handed out eight assists to lead the Rockets to a 110-97 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday at the Toyota Center.
Luis Scola scored 17 points for the Rockets, who have won 12 in a row and 16 of their last 17 games overall. Rafer Alston totaled 13 points and Yao Ming netted 12, while Shane Battier notched a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Rockets are 18-9 at home this season. They will also host Memphis, Denver and Indiana on the current homestand.
Houston is on its longest winning streak since it opened the 1993-94 season with 15 straight victories.
Washington plays the middle contest of a three-game road trip. On Monday, DeShawn Stevenson scored a career-best 33 points and hit the winning shot from beyond the arc at the buzzer, boosting the Wizards to a 95-92 win over the New Orleans Hornets.
Brendan Haywood and Roger Mason both added 12 points, and Antawn Jamison had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Wizards, who have won two in a row for the first time since January 18-21.
The Wizards, who are 11-17 on the road this season, will visit the Chicago Bulls on Friday at the United Center.
