(Best E Casino) - The
Phoenix Suns and
Golden State Warriors try to extend their winning streaks to three games, as they battle tonight at ORACLE Arena.
This is the second meeting of the campaign between the squads. On November 26th, Monta Ellis scored 31 points, including 15 straight in the final quarter, as the Warriors knocked off Phoenix, 129-114, at ORACLE Arena.
The Warriors have won two in a row in the series. Phoenix has lost two straight at Golden State.
Phoenix is scheduled to host the Pacific Division-rival Warriors on March 13th and April 14th at US Airways Center.
The Suns are fresh off of a 2-0 homestand. Amare Stoudemire scored 31 points, pulled down 13 rebounds and hit two crucial free throws in the waning seconds of the final quarter to pace Phoenix to a 108-107 win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday at US Airways Center.
Raja Bell had 21 points and Steve Nash contributed 10 points and 12 assists for the Suns (36-15), who won their second straight and have the best mark in the Western Conference. Grant Hill and Boris Diaw each had 13 points for Phoenix, which has won six of its last eight contests.
Center Shaquille O'Neal, who was acquired from the Miami Heat last week, continues to be sidelined with a left hip injury, but there's a chance he could make his Suns debut on Thursday at home against the Dallas Mavericks. Shaq is expected to miss tonight's contest in Oakland.
The Suns were another player short against Washington, as guard Leandro Barbosa left early in the fourth quarter against the Wizards due to an illness. Barbosa (flu-like symptoms) is questionable for tonight's contest.
Phoenix is 17-9 on the road this season. The Suns have won two in a row as the visitor.
The Warriors wrap up a five-game homestand this evening. On Monday, Stephen Jackson's four-point play sparked an unconventional surge from 23 points down, as Golden State rallied to stun Washington, 120-117, at ORACLE Arena.
Jackson poured in a season-high 41 points -- one off his career-best scoring night --, Ellis scored 22 and Al Harrington netted 21 off the bench for the Warriors, who have won two straight and four of their last five games overall.
Golden State is 16-9 at home this season. The Warriors are 3-1 on the current homestand and have won five of their last six contests as the host.
