Minnesota Timberwolves conclude a three-game homestand when they welcome the
Toronto Raptors today to the Target Center.
This is the first of two meetings between the teams this season. Toronto is scheduled to host the Timberwolves on February 27th at the Air Canada Centre.
Toronto has won six in a row in the series. The Raptors have captured three straight at Minnesota.
The Timberwolves try to halt a two-game losing streak and rebound from a tough loss. On Friday, Leon Powe's putback layup as time expired lifted the Boston Celtics over the Timberwolves, 88-86, in Kevin Garnett's return to Minnesota.
Al Jefferson finished with 18 points and nine rebounds in the loss to Boston for the Timberwolves, who have dropped two straight after a two-game winning streak. Craig Smith poured in 16 points and pulled down seven boards in defeat.
Minnesota, which is 8-16 at home this season, will visit All-Star Jason Kidd and the New Jersey Nets on Tuesday at the Izod Center.
Toronto has dropped two of its last three games overall. Corey Maggette tied a season-high with 35 points, and he also grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Los Angeles Clippers past the , 102-98, on Friday at Air Canada Centre.
All-Star Chris Bosh registered 29 points and 12 rebounds for the Raptors, who have alternated wins and losses for the past six games. Jamario Moon had 16 points, while Andrea Bargnani and Carlos Delfino collected 14 points apiece in defeat.
The Raptors, who have won two of their last three as the visitor, are 12-12 on the road this season.
After tonight's game, the Raptors will return home for a three-game stand. They will host the Spurs, Nets, and Magic on the upcoming homestand.
