(Best E Casino) - The Anaheim Ducks will try to win three straight road games for just the third time this season, when the defending Stanley Cup champions visit the New Jersey Devils tonight at Prudential Center.

The Ducks have won the last two tests on their franchise-record nine-game road trip and are now 2-3-1 on the epic swing. Anaheim, which is just 13-15-3 as the visitor this year, also won three straight on the road from November 3-17 and four in a row from December 10-27.

Anaheim's last two victories have come against New York teams, as it beat the Islanders, 3-0, on Tuesday before notching Thursday's win over the Rangers.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 32 shots as the Anaheim Ducks downed the Rangers, 4-1, at Madison Square Garden. Giguere has given up just one goal in his last three trips to the ice.

Mathieu Schneider had a goal and an assist for the Ducks. Corey Perry and Chris Kunitz both scored in a span of 1:27 in the second period to put the Ducks on top. Todd Bertuzzi added a score in the third period to ice the win.

Tonight will mark Anaheim defenseman Scott Niedermayer's first game in New Jersey since leaving the Devils to sign with the Ducks after the 2004-05 campaign. Niedermayer won three Stanley Cups during his stint with the Devils, which began when Jersey selected him third overall in the 1991 draft. He won a Conn Smythe Trophy while leading Anaheim to its first-ever championship last spring.

Niedermayer did play against the Devils in Anaheim on November 24 of last season and posted an assist in the Ducks' 4-2 win.

New Jersey comes into tonight locked into a battle for first place in the Atlantic Division. The Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins are currently tied for first with 65 points each, while the Devils are one point behind in third. Jersey can pull into first place tonight, as both Philly and the Pens are idle.

The Devils had a two-game winning streak halted on Wednesday, as they were handed Wednesday's close loss in Buffalo. Henrik Tallinder and Drew Stafford scored in the shootout, as the Sabres earned the 3-2 win at HSBC Arena.

Stafford beat Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur to give Buffalo the edge, and Sabres netminder Ryan Miller blocked Zach Parise's backhander wide right. Tallinder then completely faked out Brodeur, causing the goaltender to skate out of the crease and fall forward, while the Buffalo defenseman netted the easy score. Miller stopped Brian Gionta's quick snap shot to seal the win.

Mike Mottau and Karel Rachunek scored goals for New Jersey, which has lost four of its last six games. Brodeur turned aside 20 shots in the loss.

The Devils will kick off a four-game homestand tonight and are actually playing seven of their next eight games in Newark. New Jersey is 16-10-0 at the Prudential Center this year and has won two in a row at home after dropping five of its previous six tests as the host.

Anaheim hasn't played in New Jersey since November 12, 2002 and has lost six straight in the Garden State. This is the Anaheim's first-ever stop at the Devils' new building.
