Oakland, CA (Best E Casino) - Chris Duhon scored a career-high 34 points and tallied nine assists, and the shorthanded Chicago Bulls edged Golden State, 114-108, ruining Chris Webber's return to the Warriors.

Webber started his NBA career with the Warriors back in 1993-94. He was drafted first overall by the Orlando Magic, but was then dealt out west to the Warriors. Webber split time last season in Philadelphia and Detroit. The 34- year-old was held to four points and one rebound in 12 minutes.

Joe Smith scored 27 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Bulls, who won despite missing Ben Gordon (sprained right wrist), and Kirk Hinrich (bruised ribs), and continuing to play without Luol Deng (left Achilles tendinitis). Tyrus Thomas added 15 points for Chicago, which had dropped three of four entering play.

Monta Ellis scored 25 points for the Warriors, who had won four of five. Baron Davis scored 22 points and doled out eight assists, and Al Harrington scored 20 points off the bench.

The teams entered the fourth quarter tied, and played neck-and-neck down the stretch. Thomas put Chicago up 101-98 with a jumper, but a Davis layup again made it a one-point affair with 2:15 left. The Bulls had a chance to pull away at the free-throw line, but Thomas and Smith both missed one-of-two, and Chicago led by only four.

The Warriors couldn't answer on the offensive end, though, and two Smith free throws with 50.7 seconds left pushed the Bulls lead to 106-100. Andres Nocioni, Duhon, and Thomas all sank free throws in the final minute to secure the win.

The Bulls started strong, opening the game with a 14-6 run. The Warriors scored seven straight, though, with a Stephen Jackson layup making it a one- point game with 5:43 left. Chicago answered, though, and took a 32-23 lead into the second.

The Chicago lead stood at 10 points late in the second quarter, but the Warriors scored seven straight to pull within three. The Bulls led 50-47 at the break.

The Warriors pulled out in front in the third quarter, but the Bulls came back, and, after a Duhon running hook shot at the buzzer, the teams were tied at 77-77 entering the final 12 minutes of play.

It was the first win for the Bulls in Oakland since January 1998, ending an eight-game losing streak...Ben Wallace was 0-for-7 from the free-throw line, finishing with 10 points and eight rebounds.
