Dallas Mavericks play the middle contest of a three- game homestand when they welcome the
Golden State Warriors tonight to American Airlines Center.
This is the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On November 8th, Josh Howard and Jason Terry scored 24 points apiece as the Mavericks edged Golden State, 120-115, in a rematch of the 2007 Western Conference playoffs at ORACLE Arena. The Warriors stunned top-seeded Dallas in six games in the first round of last year's postseason.
Golden State has won four straight after losing its last 12 at Dallas.
Reigning MVP Dirk Nowitzki poured in 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Mavericks withstood a late push by the Atlanta Hawks to earn a 97-84 victory on Saturday at American Airlines Center.
Howard and Devin Harris both scored 19 points in the win for the Mavericks, who halted a two-game skid. Terry came off the bench and posted 14 points, while Erick Dampier notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.
Dallas, which has won six of its last seven contests as the host, is 14-3 at home this season. The Mavericks are scheduled to host the Miami Heat on Friday.
Golden State has won two in a row and plays the finale of a three-game road trip tonight. On Monday, Baron Davis scored 23 points and dished out seven assists as the Warriors used a strong fourth quarter to defeat the Houston Rockets, 112-95, at the Toyota Center.
Monta Ellis added 20 points and six rebounds in the win for the Warriors, who outscored the Rockets 37-15 in the final frame en route to winning for the fourth time in five games overall. Al Harrington ended with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Stephen Jackson poured in 18 points for Golden State.
The Warriors return home to host the New Orleans Hornets on Friday and the San Antonio Spurs on Monday at ORACLE Arena.
Golden State is 11-7 on the road this season.
