Toronto, ON (Best E Casino) - Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Ed Jovanovski has been suspended for one game without pay after delivering a blow to the head of Minnesota forward Marian Gaborik on November 28. Jovanovski will forfeit nearly $35,000, which will go to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund. He sat out Friday's 6-1 loss at Chicago and will be eligible to return December 1 at Detroit. The 6-2, 210-pound Ontario native has two goals, 13 assists and 23 penalty minutes so far this season. The first overall selection by the Panthers in the 1994 NHL Draft, Jovanovski has amassed 99 goals and 262 assists for Florida, Vancouver and Phoenix.
