Dallas, TX (Best E Casino) - Dirk Nowitzki flirted with a triple-double as Dallas used a strong second half to douse Philadelphia, 99-84, at American Airlines Center.

Nowitzki had 21 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists for the Mavericks, who outscored the Sixers 56-34 in the second half en route to winning their fourth game in five tries. Jason Terry added a game-high 25 points while Josh Howard had 18 for Dallas.

Andre Iguodala had 15 points, 12 boards and eight assists for the Sixers, who have dropped three straight. Samuel Dalembert tallied 18 points and seven rebounds and Willie Green had 16 points for Philadelphia.

The Mavs entered the second half down seven but took control with a dominant third quarter. Dallas ripped off a 16-2 run start the frame, capped by a Devin Harris driving layup to make it a 59-52 game with 8:04 left in the third quarter.

Dallas kept pressing the less-talented Sixers and led 76-68 entering the final frame before putting things away with an 8-2 run to start the quarter. Terry's long three gave the Mavs a more than comfortable 84-70 lead with 9:17 left in the game.

Dallas coasted to the finish line from there. Terry's running finger roll, with just over four minutes left, made it a 19-point game, 95-76.

Moments later, another Terry layup gave Dallas its first 20-point cushion, 97-76, in the easy win.

The Sixers held a slim 22-21 edge after the opening 12 minutes and closed the first half with a 12-4 run to take a 50-43 lead at intermission. Iguodala hooked up with Dalembert on an alley-oop to close out the scoring in the frame.
