Portland, OR (Best E Casino) - LaMarcus Aldridge tied a career-high with 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Portland Trail Blazers over the
Memphis Grizzlies, 110-98, at the Rose Garden.
Brandon Roy added 22 points and eight assists and Jarrett Jack tallied 21 points for Portland, which has won two straight after starting the season with three straight setbacks. Martell Webster recorded 17 points for the Blazers, who scored 36 fourth-quarter points to secure the win.
Rudy Gay scored 31 points and Pau Gasol had 19 points for the Grizzlies, who fell for the third time in four outings this season. Kyle Lowry added 14 points for Memphis, which scored just 37 points in the second half after exploding for 61 first-half points.
Down 84-82 after Lowry hit a pair of free throws with 8:22 left in the fourth quarter, Portland scored seven straight points to take the lead for good. Jack hit a driving layup to start the surge and ended it with a three-pointer with 6:18 remaining for an 89-84 edge.
Later, a Roy jumper made it a 93-85 game and with just 1:15 left, Jack drained a three-pointer to put the game out of reach, 104-95, with 1:15 on the clock.
Portland ended a two-game slide to Memphis overall, beating the Grizzlies at the Rose Garden for the first time since March 12, 2005.
Memphis led 26-23 after one quarter and extended its advantage to 61-49 heading into halftime.
Portland came storming back in the third quarter, holding the Grizzlies to just 15 points in the frame, while drawing within 76-74 by the start of the fourth quarter.
