Dallas Mavericks and
Golden State Warriors battle in a rematch of the 2007 Western Conference playoffs tonight at ORACLE Arena.
Golden State stunned the Mavericks, who were the top seed, in six games in the first round of the postseason. During the 2006-07 regular season, the Warriors won all three contests with Dallas.
Dallas has lost three straight after winning its last three at Golden State.
The Mavericks enter tonight's contest on a two-game winning streak. Jason Terry came off the bench to score 31 points and key a late-third quarter run as Dallas earned a 107-98 win over the Houston Rockets on Monday at American Airlines Center.
Josh Howard scored 21 points, grabbed six rebounds and handed out four assists, while Jerry Stackhouse, celebrating his 33rd birthday, netted 16 in the victory over Houston.
Point guard Guard Devin Harris (11/7, bruised left thigh) is probable for tonight's contest. Harris has missed Dallas' last two contests.
Dallas is 1-1 on the road this season. The Mavericks are scheduled to visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday at the Rose Garden.
Golden State has dropped its first four games of the season. The Warriors play the second of a four-game homestand this evening. On Tuesday, Daniel Gibson drained five three-pointers to help the Cleveland Cavaliers knock off Golden State, 108-104, at ORACLE Arena.
Baron Davis scored a season-high 29 points and handed out 10 assists, while Monta Ellis ended with 22 points and six rebounds in the loss to Cleveland for the Warriors.
The Warriors are 0-2 at home this season. They will also host the Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Clippers on the current homestand.
Golden State is off to its worst start since losing six in a row to start the 2004-2005 campaign.
