ST. LOUIS (AP) -Alfonso Soriano's two-run homer in the eighth inning drove in the go-ahead run in the Chicago Cubs' 3-2 victory over the sagging St. Louis Cardinals in the first game of a day-night doubleheader on Saturday.

Kerry Wood (1-1) struck out one in a perfect seventh in relief of Ted Lilly, who worked six innings and gave up two runs and four hits. It's Wood's first victory since May 29, 2006.

Pinch-hitter Cliff Floyd drew a leadoff walk and Sam Fuld pinch-ran before Soriano hit his 26th homer into the left-field stands on a 3-2 pitch from Ryan Franklin. Soriano has two homers in the last three games, and eight in the last 18 games since returning from the 15-day disabled list for a strained right quad.

Franklin (4-4) has lost four straight decisions after a 4-0 start, and has given up a two-run homer and taken the loss in two of his last three outings.Phillies 5, Mets 3

NEW YORK (AP) - Carlos Beltran misplayed Jimmy Rollins' line drive into a two-run triple, helping the Phillies win their seventh straight victory over the Mets.

New York wasted another terrific start by Pedro Martinez, who struck out nine and held the Phillies to one run in six innings.

The Mets led 3-1 after six innings but couldn't hold on for the second straight game. The Phillies lead the majors with 45 come-from-behind wins.

Rowand tied it in the eighth with a drive off Pedro Feliciano for his 24th homer. Jorge Sosa (9-7) came in and walked pinch-hitter Wes Helms, who was replaced at first by Chris Roberson. After a sacrifice and a walk to pinch-hitter Pete Laforest, Rollins hit an 0-1 pitch to center.

Antonio Alfonseca (5-1) worked a perfect seventh to get the win. J.C. Romero and Tom Gordon combined to record three outs and get it to Brett Myers, who pitched the ninth for his 17th save and second in as many days.Dodgers 6, Diamondbacks 2

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Derek Lowe, who missed a start after being injured while playing catch, allowed one run in seven innings, Luis Gonzalez hit a three-run homer to cap a four-run first, and the Dodgers won their second straight over Arizona.

Lowe (12-12) gave up four hits while walking one and striking out five before being relieved by Joe Beimel to start the eighth. It was the Dodgers' fourth straight win.

The Dodgers took a quick 4-0 lead against Livan Hernandez (10-10). Rafael Furcal opened the first with a single and Juan Pierre walked. Hot-hitting rookie James Loney followed with an RBI single before Gonzalez hit Hernandez's pitch into the lower seats in right for his 14th homer.

Furcal stole a career-high four bases to give him seven in the last three games and 25 this season. The only other major leaguer to steal four bases this season was Kenny Lofton, who did so June 29 against Boston while playing for Texas.
