Charlotte, NC (Best E Casino) - Kyle Busch, who is leaving Hendrick Motorsports after this season, has reportedly signed on to join Joe Gibbs Racing for 2008. The Charlotte Observer reports Busch signed a letter of intent last week to drive for Gibbs. However, the newspaper reports the signing is not binding and Busch could still change his mind. Busch, the most coveted free agent since Dale Earnhardt Jr. decided to join Hendrick Motorsports for the '08 season, is currently eighth in the Nextel Cup standings, 13 points behind Jimmie Johnson for seventh. Denny Hamlin, J.J. Yeley and two-time Nextel Cup champion Tony Stewart are currently on the roster of drivers for Joe Gibbs Racing. However, Busch will replace Yeley, according to the newspaper. An official announcement of Busch's move to the Gibbs team is expected within the next couple of weeks, according to the Observer.
