Nashville, TN (Best E Casino) - Former Nextel Cup and Craftsman Truck Series driver Bobby Hamilton died on Sunday after an 11-month fight with cancer. Hamilton was diagnosed with head and neck cancer in February 2006 after a malignant growth was found. He had raced the first three events of the season and immediately turned his ride over to son, Bobby Hamilton Jr. Hamilton left the Nextel Cup Series in 2002 to concentrate on his Craftsman Truck Series team. He won the truck title in 2004. "He was a great driver and a great owner," said fellow driver Brendan Gaughan. "My heart goes out to the BHR organization."
