Versailles, KY (Best E Casino) - Glidemaster, the 2006 trotting Triple Crown winner, has been retired from racing. Trainer Blair Burgess made the announcement on Tuesday. Glidemaster will stand as a stallion at Walnridge Farm in Pennsylvania. The three-year-old colt is owned by Bob Burgess, Karin Olsson-Burgess, Marsha Cohen and breeder Brittany Farms. He was driven primarily by Hall of Famer John Campbell. Glidemaster became the eighth trotter to capture the Triple Crown and the first since Windsong's Legacy in 2004. Campbell drove him to victory in the Hambletonian and the Kentucky Futurity. For the Yonkers Trot, Glidemaster was driven by George Brennan because Campbell was recovering from a broken leg. This year Glidemaster earned more than $1.9 million in 15 starts and eight wins. In his two year career the colt posted 11 wins in 20 starts for $1.968,023.
