Cornelius, NC (Best E Casino) - Michael Waltrip Racing announced its crew chief lineup for the upcoming 2007 Nextel Cup racing season. Waltrip will team with David Hyder in the No.55 MAPA Toyota, while No.44 Toyota driver Dale Jarrett will join with Matt Borland and Nextel Cup rookie David Reutimann will team with Larry Carter in the No.00 Toyota. "We concentrated on pairing personalities to find the perfect qualified individuals for each position," said Waltrip. "I've known David (Hyder) for a while and look forward to him leading the NAPA team. I love his enthusiasm and the way he thinks." Borland was the crew chief for Ryan Newman between 2001 and 2006 and the team combined for 12 wins, 83 top-10s and 37 poles in 186 starts. This is Borland's first year at MWR after a total of seven years at Penske Racing. "Dale expressed his ideal crew chief was someone like Matt Borland," Waltrip said. "We were actually able to deliver Matt. Matt's spirit and determination will permeate throughout our shop." This will be the first year for Toyota in Nextel Cup. The manufacturer won its first NASCAR national series in 2006 when Todd Bodine and Germain Racing won the Craftsman Truck Series championship.
