Paris, France (Best E Casino) - Newly-crowned Nextel Cup champion Jimmie Johnson will compete in the Race of Champions and Nations' Cup events at the Stade de France in Paris on December 16th. The Race of Champions is a 16-man competition (two each from eight countries) that compete on parallel courses in head-to-head matches. The field is made up of two divisions, rally and racing with the winners facing off in a super final. There is also a team competition where Johnson and Travis Pastrana (2006 Rally America National Championship) will represent the United States. Among this year's field are three-time Champ Car Series champion Sebastien Bourdais, Formula One's Jenson Button and David Coulthard and Frenchman Sebastien Loeb who won the event in 2005. Johnson's Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jeff Gordon competed in 2005, but was eliminated in the semi-finals.
