East Rutherford, NJ (Best E Casino) - Post positions for Saturday's eight Breeders Crown races have been finalized. The races Saturday night will feature two and three-year-old pacers and trotters.
All but the two-year-old filly pace have 10 standardbreds entered. The three- year-old pace for colts and geldings is topped by Rocknroll Hanover, the leading money winner in the sport this year.
Rocknroll Hanover has won 11 of 17 starts for more than $1.9 million. The colt will start from post two in the mile pace and Brian Sears will again drive. Rocknroll Hanover has posted wins this year in the Meadowlands Pace and the North America Cup. He is the 7-5 morning line favorite in field of 10.
Hambletonian winner Vivid Photo tops the field in the $610,000 Breeders Crown Trot. Vivid Photo will be driven by co-owner and trainer Roger Hammer and start from post five. The three-year-old has won 16 of 22 starts for $1.3 million. Vivid Photo is the 3-1 second choice to 9-5 favorite Strong Yankee.
Strong Yankee has won his last four starts, including a head victory last week over Vivid Photo. Brian Sears has the driving assignment and will start from post three.
The $516,800 Breeders Crown Trot for two-year-old fillies is topped by Pure Ivory and driver Steve Condren. Pure Ivory has won 10 of 13 starts for $341,291. The filly will start from post four in the 10-horse field.
The undefeated My Little Dragon is the heavy favorite in the $500,000 two- year-old filly pace. With driver Ron Pierce, My Little Dragon will start from the outside post in the nine-horse field. She has earned $236,583 for owner Adam Victor and son Stable.
The $507,600 two-year-old colt trot has favorite Chocolatier starting from the inside post. The colt will be driven by Doug R. Ackerman for his father Doug J. Ackerman. Chocolatier has won seven of nine starts for $254,450.
Flawless Bluestone tops the $500,000 three-year-old filly trot. The filly will start from post two with driver David Miller. She has won six of 16 starts for $338,535 this year and $409,756 overall.
Last year's top two-year-old filly pacer, Restive Hanover, tries for a second Breeders Crown title. She is the horse to beat in the $500,000 three-year-old filly pace. Restive Hanover will start from post three with Andy Miller driving. This year she has just eight starts with two wins and $86,390. Last year she earned $590,607.
The Breeders Crown two-year-old colt pace is led by Jereme's Jet. Jereme's Jet will be driven by Paul MacDonell and start from post seven. He has won five of six starts for $751,676. The colt claimed victory earlier this year in the Metro Stakes and the Governor's Cup, both in Canada.
