| Washington, D.C. (Best E Casino) - The Washington Redskins signed free agent safety Stuart Schweigert, the team announced on Monday. His production decreased in 2007 when he recorded just 69 tackles to go with two interceptions after losing his starting job late in the season. Schweigert played four seasons in Oakland before being released on May 21. For |

Speaking publicly for the first time since joining the Jacksonville Jaguars in February, Williams refused to talk about his seemingly awkward departure from the Washington Redskins. ``I'm happy to be a Jaguar,'' he said. ``Any other questions about the Jaguars?'' Not yet. Williams met with Redskins owner Dan Snyder four times about succeeding head coach Joe Gibbs and probably could have provided the most continuity for a t |

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -Less than a month after being drafted, Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis stepped behind a podium Tuesday and performed a familiar professional sports ritual: the prearranged, contrite apology. Davis apologized to owner Dan Snyder, coach Jim Zorn and his Redskins teammates for the ``minor mistake'' of missing a minicamp practice May 4. The second-round draft pick from Southern California said he overslept after switching hotel rooms the night before. ``It was something that was irre |

MIAMI (AP) - Prosecutors said Monday they will not seek the death penalty against four people charged with murdering Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor because the accused shooter was a minor when the crime was committed. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that people cannot be executed for crimes committed when they're under 18, and it's a well established legal principle that others involved in the same case as a minor cannot face the ultimate penalty if they are less directly responsible.
