McCarthy, a 17th-round pick of the Chicago White Sox in 2002, broke in at the major-league level with the White Sox in 2005 and made 12 appearances, going 3-2 with a 4.03 earned run average in 67 innings. He was 4-7 with Chicago in 2006 before coming to Texas in an offseason trade prior to the 2007 campaign. |
