Amare Stoudemire leads Shaq and the Suns to rugged 85-77 win over Boston NBA Basketball 02/23/2008

Thanks largely to one of the game's best post players, the Phoenix Suns roughed up the Boston Celtics. Even Shaquille O'Neal was impressed.

Led by 28 points from Amare Stoudemire, Phoenix bumped and banged its way to an 85-77 victory over the top team in the Eastern conference, sending Boston to its first three-game losing streak of the season.

``Amare Stoudemire is the best big man in the game right now - period, bar none,'' O'Neal said. ``I didn't know he was that good. But talking to him and watch

Shaq, Kidd lose in debuts with new teams NBA Basketball 02/21/2008

Shaq was back, this time in a new uniform.

In his first game in nearly a month because of injuries, Shaquille O'Neal rumbled up and down the court in his Phoenix Suns debut and flashed some of the powerful moves that made him one of the most dominant big men in NBA history.

``I'm in better shape than I thought I was,'' he said after a 15-point, nine-rebound performance Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers.

He couldn't deliver a win, though, as Kobe Bryant - despite his dislocated right pi

The Mavericks lost the opener of the swing to the Phoenix Suns, 109-97, on February 14th at US Airways Center. Reigning MVP Dirk Nowitzki is having an excellent season for the Mavericks. He leads the team in scoring (22.8 ppg) and rebounding (8.8 rpg). He is shooting 46.9 percent from the floor, including 29.1

Golden State is five games behind the division-leading Phoenix Suns in the Pacific. The Warriors are in third place, one game in back of the second place Los Angeles Lakers. O'Neal ready to take on Lakers, critics in Suns' debut NBA Basketball 02/19/2008

PHOENIX (AP) - Shaquille O'Neal says he is ready to run with the Phoenix Suns. Really.

``I'm going to be looking to get out like Randy Moss and Terrell Owens,'' he said Tuesday after going through his final workout before making his debut with the Suns on Wednesday night against his old team, the Los Angeles Lakers.

The prospect of the 7-foot-1, 325-pound O'Neal, at age 35, fitting in with the high-octane Suns has been ridiculed across much of the NBA.
