Before the injury, Aybar hit .270 with 16 RBI and 21 runs scored in 43 games. Aybar went 1-for-4 at the plate in his return, a 5-4 loss in 10 innings to the New York Mets. Bench coach Jerry Manuel, a former manager of the Chicago White Sox, has been named interim manager. I wrote a few weeks back that I thought Randolph should have been fired. I don't think he is the sole reason they are in the position they are, but you can't fire 25 players.
