GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -In a Feb. 4 story about the unbeaten 1972 Dolphins, The Associated Press reported erroneously that the members of that team would celebrate the New England Patriots' loss in the Super Bowl with champagne. Though Dolphins veterans savor their perfect record, stories that they hold annual champagne celebrations when the last unbeaten NFL team loses are a myth. The erroneous information also appeared in AP stories Feb. 2 and Feb. 3 about the '72 Dolphins.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Pr |

The sports books handled just more than $92 million on the game, the third-highest amount ever but down for the second consecutive year. The record was set in 2006 when $94.5 million was bet. The last time the books lost money was in 1995, when the San Francisco 49ers blew out the San Diego Chargers, 49-26, and Nevada books lost $400,000. Nevada Gaming Contr |

No audition tape was necessary; the defense's performance in Sunday's 17-14 upset of the New England Patriots pretty much speaks for itself. ``I think they're pretty good,'' Snyder said. ``It was a very interesting game. To see what I consider the most explosive offense I've seen in years and years to just be slowed down like that was quite impressive.''< |

| (Best E Casino) - As they say, close only counts in hand grenades and horseshoes. It certainly has no business in a conversation about perfection. Which is why the New England Patriots didn't just lose a Super Bowl on Sunday night. They didn't just lose their chance to lay claim to the "Best Team Ever" label, or their front-running status in the "Best Dynasties of All Time" conversation. When the team, their coaches, the front office and their fans woke up on Monday morning, they did so with the sudden and stomac |
