| Nashville, TN (Best E Casino) - The Nashville Predators signed center Rich Peverley to a two-year contract and goaltender Pekka Rinne to a one-year contract extension, the team announced Friday. The first year of Peverley's contract will pay the 26-year-old $475,000 at the NHL level and $100,000 at the minor-league level, as part of a two-way agreement. The Washington Capitals first-round pick (11th overall) of the 1993 draft, Witt had spent the first 10 years of his career in Washington before a trade- deadline deal sent him to the Nashville Predators in 2006. He then signed with the Islanders the next offseason and has complied three goals, 18 assists and 182 penalty minutes in 140 games the past two years.
