Ramage's lawyer, Brian Greenspan, appealed both the conviction and sentence later Thursday at the Ontario Court of Appeal and Ramage was released from jail. Ramage will not serve any prison time until Greenspan exhausts all legal avenues, and is expected to return to his family in St. Louis pending the outcome of the appeal. Ramage played in the NHL from 1979-94, totaling 139 goals and 425 assists and winning Stanley Cups with the Calgary Flames and Montreal Canadiens. |
