| Cowboys have their show stolen for a second straight week? It was last Sunday when the New England Patriots marched into Texas Stadium and ended the Cowboys' run of perfection, flexing their own undefeated muscles in a 48-27 victory. This week, the Minnesota Vikings and dazzling rookie running back Adrian Peterson will look to prove themselves as the feature attractions, sending Dallas into its bye week with a second straight loss. Peterson offered up one of the great individual performances in NFL history last |

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -Minnesota Vikings safety Dwight Smith will not play Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys because of a nagging hamstring injury. Smith has been bothered by the sore hamstring for most of the season, but it appears to have worsened this week and he was listed as out on the injury report on Friday. ``He has been kind of fighting through it and he and the doctors and the trainers feel like it is just best that he gets that thing healed up,'' coach Brad Childress said after practice. ``H |

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -Linebacker Ben Leber is one of the Minnesota Vikings' best defensive players. He is a sure tackler with good speed and excellent instincts and is rarely caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. So it seems silly that for nearly all of his 20 career games in purple, Leber has only played on first and second down. He is almost always on the sideline when the Vikings bring their nickel package on the field for third down, with weak side linebacker Chad Greenway remaining on the |

NFL Football |

| (Best E Casino) - Not much was expected of the Minnesota Vikings in 2007, and that probably hasn't changed after a thrilling 34-31 win in Chicago. That said, it's tough for a team to be out of the playoff race after Week 6, and that's exactly where the Vikings were headed if they fell to the Bears on Sunday. Thanks to rookie star Adrian Peterson, a fourth consecutive loss and -- more importantly -- a third straight defeat in the division was averted. In a contest filled with explosive scoring plays, Peterson p |

They should have made the playoffs two years later, winning a memorable Monday night game against Fran Tarkenton's Minnesota Vikings and pushing their record to 8-3 with three games remaining - all at home. Of course, they lost two of those and missed the playoffs by a single game. The Falcons have a way of building up expectations from time to time, and quickly tearing them |
