The Chiefs lost their last nine games of 2007, finishing 4-12 in their worst season in 30 years. The 31-year-old Welbourn, who was released Thursday, started every game last season at right guard. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Alabi played in nine games for the Dolphins in 2007. A fifth-round pick out TCU by the Dolphins in 2005, Alabi has played in 15 games over his three seasons with the club. Alabi, who turns 27 on February 16, was waived by the Dolphins on Monday, along with eight other players, most notably quarterback Trent Green. |

Alabi played 15 games in three seasons in Miami, including nine games on the offensive line for the Dolphins last season. Alabi was Miami's fifth-round selection at 162nd overall in the 2005 NFL draft, a pick obtained from Kansas City in a trade involving cornerback Patrick Surtain.
