| Network) - The Carolina Hurricanes signed center Zach Boychuk to a three-year, entry-level contract on Saturday. The 14th overall selection in the 2008 draft, Boychuk, 19, led all Western Hockey League players with 13 playoff goals last season, helping Lethbridge capture the Eastern Conference title before falling to Spokane in the finals. Boychuk registered 33 goals and 39 assists in 61 regular-season contests. Carolina opens the 2008-09 regular season Friday, October 10 at home against the Florida Panthers. |
