CLEVELAND (AP) -A person familiar with the agreement says the Cleveland Browns have come to terms on a multiyear contract with rookie quarterback Colt McCoy.

McCoy is expected to report with Cleveland's other first-year players to training camp on Friday, said the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team has not yet announced McCoy's agreement. The Browns are the first NFL team to open camp.

CLEVELAND (AP) -The Cleveland Browns have signed rookie defensive back Larry Asante to a multiyear contract.

Terms were not disclosed Friday by the Browns, who selected Asante in the fifth round (No. 160 overall) in April's NFL draft.

The 6-foot, 210-pound Asante started 36 games in three years at Nebraska. He had 24 tackles, three interceptions, three forced fumbles and a sack for the Cornhuskers.

CLEVELAND (AP) -Cleveland Browns nose tackle Shaun Rogers will enter a diversion program to resolve a felony charge that he tried to carry a gun through airport security.

Under the deal approved Thursday in a Cleveland court, the gun charge will be dismissed if Rogers completes the program, which includes volunteer service and 10 hours in a gun class.

Police say Rogers had the semiautomatic handgun in a carry-on bag at Cleveland's Hopkins International Airport in April.

CLEVELAND (AP) -Cleveland Browns nose tackle Shaun Rogers has reached an agreement with prosecutors that could dismiss charges that he tried to carry a gun through airport security in April.

Prosecutors in Cleveland say when Rogers appears in court Thursday, he'll agree to meet with a diversion officer and do volunteer service over the next year.

The case against Rogers will be dismissed if he completes the diversion program, including 10 hours in a gun-class.
