EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) -Boston Celtics center Kendrick Perkins said there is a ``strong possibility'' he can play in Game 5 of the NBA finals, even though he didn't practice Saturday and appeared to be heavily favoring his strained left shoulder. ``It's the finals, man. You've got to suck it up and go all out,'' he said before practice at the Los Angeles Lakers training facility. ``I feel like I can go (Sunday night). The doctor feels the same way. There's a strong possibility I'm playing.'' In the 30 |

It would have been impossible to imagine them or Rivers in this position a year ago. The revered Boston Celtics were a disaster. The league's most storied franchise had fallen on the hardest of hard times. The mystique had faded and Rivers' young team had begun to accept defeat. The 46-year-old's future seemed uncertain as well. There were questions about h |

Following the Los Angeles Lakers' 97-91 loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 4 of the NBA finals, Bryant said the team ``wet the bed - a nice big one, too. One of the ones you can't put a towel over.'' And he had some suggestions how to bounce back from a game in which they blew a 24-point lead and a chance to tie th |

Perkins strained his left shoulder in Boston's 97-91 victory Thursday night. He is averaging 4.5 points in the series. Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo also aggravated his sprained left ankle, and star forward Paul Pierce rolled his right ankle in Game 4, but the captain stayed in the game. "I've watched these players grow individually and collectively, and am excited to continue coaching them and building on the momentum from last season. He believes there's only one reasonable way to approach such a grim situation. ``I'm not thinking about beating them three straight,'' Bryant said after the Lakers collapsed in the last 18 minutes Thursday night, resulting in a 97-91 loss to the Boston Celtics that put them on the brink of elimination from the NBA finals. ``We're thinking about beating them on Sunday,'' Bryant said. ``Then, you move on from there.
