Slaten, who was placed on the DL on July 19 with a right knee strain, is 0-3 with a 4.40 earned run average in 37 games this season. To make room on the roster, the club optioned right-handed pitcher Billy Buckner to Triple-A Tucson. Buckner went 1-0 with a 4.00 ERA over nine innings of relief in two stints with the parent club this season. |
